Foreign Minister Peters looks to deepen NZ-Pacific partnership in Fiji

Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters will be joining 17 other member-nations of the Pacific Island Forum meet in Fiji tomorrow, Friday, to discuss pressing issues surrounding the Pacific region and to deepen New Zealand’s partnership with its neighbours.

Mr. Peters said the meet was an important opportunity to push for stronger ties within “the Pacific family”, and said the forum will include strengthening Pacific regionalism, responding to climate change, advancing the Boe Declaration on regional security, and fisheries and oceans issues.

The Minister said the Coalition Government is committed to advancing security, well-being, prosperity, and resilience in its Pacific neighbourhood.
