I am New Zealand First because it stands for fairness.
Ria has a business background and experience as a mediator and spokesperson. For six years she served as president of the New Zealand Association of Registered Hairdressers, representing 8000 owners and operators. She also had a dual role as a director on the Hairdressing Industry Training Organisation, which included being an NZQA governance and advisory panel member.
She has long held an interest in community issues, and is an active member of Rotary and has served on New Zealand First’s board, and is currently the official Community and Voluntary Sector Spokesperson within the New Zealand First Party Caucus.
Coming from Southland Ria has seen first hand the regional neglect by Wellington with communities losing their capacity to make workable decisions at a local level.
