Leader's Letter
September 2006
Presidents Report
My focus at the moment is the convention on 14/15 October.
Saturday Evening
The suggestion that the Saturday
evening function be of a relaxed nature
incorporating a buffet and general
get together has met with so much
support that this is the manner in
which we will undertake the function.
There will be some music in the
background for members who may
wish to widen the scope of the function
because not everyone may wish to
spend the entire evening just talking.
Cost
We are keeping the cost of the
convention down bearing in mind the
extra costs that are always associated
with travelling to Auckland, especially
if you are doing so from the South
Island. The overall registration should
be $160.00 including both days and
the evening function.
Shuttle
There has not been much support for
the shuttle service from the airport
but those Electorates that may need
such support should contact me in any
event.
Remits
Members who wish to change any
aspect of New Zealand First should
put forward the appropriate remits
to ensure this happens. Of course,
constitutional remits do have to be
resolved in a particular way with the
establishment of a constitutional
committee. For this reason the remit
for the establishment of a young New
Zealand First will be put forward in
principle, to be subsequently finalised
by a constitutional committee.
Board and Vacancies
There are some vacancies on the Board
and some Board Members are not
standing for re-election. The obvious
vacancies are the positions of: Vice
President, Secretary and Treasurer
plus a number of Board Members.
These vacancies should make for an
exciting AGM, together with any other
opportunities that may arise on the day.
The role of President is always up for
re-election at every convention.
Lets make this a convention to remember by ensuring a full house at Takapuna, North Shore City on 14/15 October to show our support for New Zealand First and our Leader, Rt Hon Winston Peters.
