Obituary
John Body (Vice President)
On Wednesday 16th June my personal friend and our Vice President John Body quietly slipped away. Jenny Body has been a tower of strength through John's short illness and our thoughts are with her at this dark time.
John and Jenny have a wonderful family who will be there for Jenny now that John has passed on.
New Zealand First owes John Body a debt of gratitude for the great work he has done for the party.
All of it has been voluntary and at personal cost to himself and his family.
Thanks and recognition are very hard to come by in this business but I am recognising John's work in the formation and continuing good health of New Zealand First right now. With all the best will in the world members will not know and cannot possibly imagine the behind the scenes work that he has been involved in. John's untimely death will leave a void in our structure that will be very hard to fill.
John was born in Ireland but New Zealand was his country of choice and he loved it with a passion and wished only the best for it and us. His enthusiasm for the work of New Zealand First was born out of love for New Zealand and New Zealanders. What better motivation could one have?
